Hip End Sarking

Another view from inside beneath the hip end. It shows the first few 'Sarking' boards installed. This is particularly Scottish method of roof construction whereby boards are secured directly to the trusses, followed by a breathable membrane laid on top of them, with the slates then nailed directly to the boards. It's supposed to be a better method for coping with strong winds. We shall see!
